MEMBERSHIP

“Union of Tourism Service Providers of Armenia” is a public organization — an association established by citizens of the Republic of Armenia, citizens of foreign states, and stateless persons (natural persons), as well as legal entities, with the purpose of satisfying their non-religious spiritual and other non-material needs and carrying out activities of public benefit. The organization has the status of a non-commercial entity.

The rights of all members of the organization are protected by the Union of Tourism Service Providers of Armenia (In short — TOURUNION) in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.

The public organization unites guides, tour escorts, drivers, tour operators, travel agents, and other providers of tourist services — both natural and legal persons.

All members of the oTOURUNION undergo registration. Natural persons are issued a membership certificate, which is the property of the Union of Tourism Service Providers of Armenia.

Any natural person over the age of 18 or any legal entity wishing to participate in the activities of the organization and accepting the objectives established by the organization’s charter may become a member of the organization.

Members of the organization are not responsible for the obligations of the organization, and the organization is not responsible for the obligations of its members.


Rights of Members of the Organization

Members of the organization have the right to:

  • Elect and be elected to the governing bodies of the organization in cases and in the manner established by the organization’s charter.

  • Attend the general assembly in person; in the case of a legal entity, attendance may be through its president, director, or an authorized representative.

  • In cases determined by the decision of the executive body of the organization, use the services of the organization free of charge.

  • Familiarize themselves with the minutes of the organization’s governing bodies and obtain copies of the decisions they have adopted.

  • Appeal the decisions of the organization’s governing bodies through supervisory or judicial procedures. Appeals by members are carried out according to the supervisory procedure; the application is considered by the General Assembly. The consideration of the application may also be conducted remotely.

  • Obtain information and copies of documents from the organization regarding amendments to the organization’s charter, minutes of governing bodies, decisions, and funds received from property management.

  • Submit applications, proposals, and complaints to the governing bodies of the organization in order to improve the organization’s activities.

  • Receive legal assistance from the organization aimed at protecting their lawful interests.

  • Exercise other rights provided by law.

Duties of Members of the Organization

  • Comply with the requirements of the organization’s charter and the decisions of its governing bodies.

  • Conscientiously perform the duties assigned to them by decisions of the governing bodies.

  • Contribute to enhancing the reputation of the organization.

  • Support the recruitment and inclusion of new members in the organization.

  • Pay membership fees if established by the General Assembly.

Incentives and Disciplinary Measures 

  • Members of the organization may be recognized with letters of appreciation, certificates of honor, special awards, and other official documents for their contribution to the establishment of the organization, demonstration of high professional skills, humanitarian assistance, or other notable activities.

  • Members who violate the organization’s charter or fail to fulfill their obligations may be subject to disciplinary measures by the executive body, including:

    • a warning,
    • temporary suspension of membership,
    • and/or expulsion from the organization.

Admission to Membership

Any natural person over the age of 18 (a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, a citizen of a foreign country, or a stateless person) and any legal entity wishing to participate in the activities of the organization and accepting the objectives established by the organization’s charter may become a member of the organization.

A natural person and/or the head of a legal entity wishing to become a member must submit a written application (including in electronic form) to the executive body of the organization — the President.

The General Assembly of the organization has established a one-time membership fee as follows:

  • For natural persons: 3,000 (three thousand) AMD

  • For legal entities: 5,000 (five thousand) AMD

The decision to accept an applicant as a member of the organization shall be made by the President in accordance with the procedure approved by them.


Termination of Membership

  • A person who is a member of the organization is free to withdraw from the organization at any time. Withdrawal from membership shall be carried out based on a written application from the member, including in electronic form.

  • Expulsion from membership shall be effected by a decision of the executive body — the President.

  • A member who repeatedly violates the provisions set forth in this charter may be expelled from the organization.

  • Re-admission to membership shall be carried out on the general basis applicable to all applicants.
